Brandwag
A vigilant BNA member spotted two people walking through Klerck Avenue out of Brandwag with a large box. They seemed weary of being followed and were in a hurry to leave the area. The BNA Safety and Security group was informed and BNA security partners activated while the member of the public kept eyes from a safe distance, heading into Brill Street, Westdene. ๐๐น๐ผ๐ฒ๐บ๐๐ฒ๐ฐ ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ฑ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐ฝ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ฒ cornered the first suspect and found Centlec wires that he could not give a sufficient explanation of where he found it. ๐๐ง๐ฅ ๐ด also assisted and cornered the second person when it became clear that they were working together. ๐ฆ๐๐ฃ๐ฆ ๐๐น๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฆ๐พ๐๐ฎ๐ฑ arrived and arrested both suspects for theft and possible damage to municipal infrastructure.
We thank our partners Bloemsec Armed Response and Guarding, ITR-sa and the member of the public for assisting and keeping our area safe. Damage to infrastructure in the area is a serious matter and can cause long periods without power, which cannotย beย tolerated.
Brandwag
A BNA member witnessed a student being robbed at gunpoint in Klerck Avenue. They contacted the BNA safety manager with details and a search was initiated. The victim was found at Brandwag Primary School where he tried to get to safety. The victim shared information about a dilapidated white Toyota Corolla with no number plate that was involved and a lookout was shared with BNA Security Partners. Later that night, Bloemsec Rapid Response noticed a vehicle matching the description parked in front of a property known to the Police. The vehicle was monitored and information was gathered on the suspects that use the vehicle regularly. The vehicle was also positively identified by the complainant. During the weekend, Bloemsec Rapid Response and SAPS Flying Squad managed to arrest one suspect with a gas pistol and also impounded the vehicle. One suspect is still sought but is known to the Police and they are confident more arrests will follow. The suspects can also be positively linked to armed robberies in other areas even, as far as Welkom.
We want to once again thank our partners, especially Rikus in this case, for their relentless effort in Brandwag. Student robberies are a very serious concern and we cannot allow criminals to get a foothold in Brandwag.
Universitas Rif
Bloemsec received a complaint on a WhatsApp group of suspects on the premises in Universitas Rif.
Bloemsec Rapid Response and Bloemsec Armed Response with the assistance of Bloemfontein Flying Squad responded immediately.
On arrival, they confirmed a positive breaking-in at the neighbour’s premises.
The Bloemsec Armed Response officers spotted the two suspects and called for backup.
The suspect was arrested and handed overย toย theย SAPS.
Brandwag
Officer Albert Legegeru made contact where he was informed that the suspect was shoplifting.
The suspect refused to pay and started eating the items he took off the shelf. The suspect attempted to attack Officer Legegeru and tried to take his weapon. The suspect was not successful and was arrested. The suspect was handed over to SAPS.
Bloemfontein CB
Bloemsec Rapid Response unit spotted a vehicle in the CBD area that was connected to previous crimes in the Bloemfontein CBD area,
Bloemsec Rapid Response informed Bloemfontein Park Road SAPS.
Shortly afterwards the vehicle was spotted the team blocked the vehicle and arrested the suspects. One suspect jumped out and ran he was pursued by SAPS while Rikus from Bloemsec Rapid Response struggled with two suspects, SAPS caught up with the suspect and arrested him while Rikus arrested the other suspect.
One of the suspects managed to escape with the vehicle and was pursued by Bloemsec Rapid Response and SAPS the driver managed to get away and drove in the direction of the N8.
Rayton
In Lilyvale Road, Rayton an unknown vehicle pulled up with 3 suspects. One of the suspects jumped out of the vehicle and robbed a lady, with a knife.
After the robbery, our Bloemsec Rapid Response received the information and quickly responded with Bloemfontein Flying Squad and Bayswater SAPS.
The vehicle that was used in the robbery was recovered within the hour by Bloemfontein Flying Squad. The suspects, however, managed to escape and were on the run.
That same evening Bloemsec Rapid Response unit and members of the Bayswater SAPS arrested two of the three suspects that were positively identified by the victim.
A week later the third suspect was arrested by our Bloemsec Rapid Response unit and Bloemfontein Flying Squad members in the Brandwag area.
Bloemfontein CBD
Rikus from Bloemsec Rapid Response unit was a backup for Bloemsec Reaction in the Bloemfontein CBD.
It was reported that one of our premises was setting off multiple alarm signals
On arrival, the officers confirmed a positive breaking-in at the premises
Bloemsec’s armed response received information that the suspects took off with stolen items.
Bloemsec Rapid Response followed up on the info and spotted the suspects loading the stolen goods in a vehicle.
The Bloemsec team reacted and arrested the three suspects
Stolen goods were booked into SAP13 Storeroom as well as the vehicle. The 3 suspects were handed over to SAPS
The arresting Bloemsec officers were Rikus Slabbert, Johan Van Der Linde, Phillip Mxoana, and Hendrik Frederik.
Westdene
Bloemsec Rapid Response and Bloemfontein Flying Squad gathered information at a premises in the Westdene area The occupants were involved in illegal activity.
The team followed up on the information and recovered a stolen motorbike.
When searching the premises the Bloemsec Rapid Response officer and the members of the Bloemfontein Flying Squad found a gas pistol and some Mandrax tablets.
The suspect was charged with multiple cases against him.
